Michael Gebhart is finding his way in the world as a bassoonist, composer, and recording engineer.
Michael served 6 years in the Army National Guard and 4 years of active duty in the US Marine Corps as a musician and recording engineer, reaching the rank of Sergeant in both services. He actively performed and arranged music for concert band, ceremonial band, rock band, jazz ensemble, and wind quintet, expanding their library of repertoire. While stationed in Hawaii as a Marine, Michael ran recording sessions for the various ensembles of the band and provided sound reinforcement for performances in several island nations throughout the South Pacific.
In his home studio, Michael’s ability to record remotely has allowed him to record bassoon and collaborate with many musicians on various video games albums. He enjoys creating music videos featuring unique arrangements for bassoon and chamber music on his YouTube channel, many of which are used by music educators in their classrooms throughout the country. Michael shares his knowledge and expertise as a member of Kinstone, a team of entertainers and broadcast professionals who have raised over $2,000,000 for charities, creating original compositions, sound design, and running live sound for their in-person and online events.
Michael holds degrees in music composition and education from Boise State University and his finishing his master’s in audio sciences at Peabody Institute of The John Hopkins University.
